About FairBuild Index

Construction pricing has always been opaque. FairBuild Index exists to change that — starting with bathroom remodels in the Mid-South.

Why FairBuild exists

Homeowners get bids that vary by tens of thousands of dollars with no way to know which one is fair. Contractors compete against numbers built on guesswork instead of structured pricing. Both sides lose trust — and projects suffer. We believe pricing should be transparent, locally grounded, and explainable.

What we are

FairBuild Index is an independent construction pricing reference — think of it as a structured, data-driven starting point for what a project should cost, not a contractor, a lead broker, or a bidding service. Every estimate shows the line items, labor, materials, overhead, and margin behind the number. See how we calculate pricing.

Where we start

Our initial focus is bathroom remodeling across the Mid-South — Memphis, Southaven and DeSoto County, North Mississippi, and West Tennessee — with more project types and regions to follow. Starting narrow lets us get the pricing structure right before we scale it.

Our independence

We don’t sell leads or take placement fees from contractors. That independence is the whole point: a reference is only useful if neither side of a project has to wonder who paid for the number.

Contribute

FairBuild gets sharper as more real-world pricing feeds it. If you’re a contractor, you can contribute pricing data — aggregated, never individually attributed — to strengthen the reference for everyone.
